Ruins of the Ancients

38

You hear moaning up ahead and you hurry forward. Coming around a corner you suddenly stop, coming upon a sight that seems strange even to you. A man, not quite yet dead, hangs from his toes, dangling hundreds of feet above your head. His blood is slowly being drained from his body, and a small hole has been made in his jugular. The crimson liquid pools at your feet. From his look he appears to be from Vassagonia, a nation that the Ghoulag should be particularly interested in for trade reasons as well as information. Curious as to why this man was made to die you continue to look upwards until a voice disturbs your pondering.

'The Ghoulag was not amused by the information we brought. This is the punishment we suffer for failing him.' Bringing your gaze back down you see another Vassagonian standing no more than ten feet in front of you. Peering at him, something seems to click in your mind.

'And you?' You ask, 'What is your punishment?'

'In order to live, I must slay you,' is all the man says as he draws an evil looking scimitar and advances on your position.

If you wish to give him the opportunity to join you and possibly slay the Ghoulag, turn to 10.

If you wish to do battle with this ruffian, turn to 29.
