Ruins of the Ancients

10

You extend your hand in friendship stating, 'We do not have to fight. Let us instead join forces and defeat this power which threatens both of us.' The Vassagonian is temporarily taken aback. Astonishment fills his face. 'Come now,' you continue, 'You know you can never defeat me, why not take a chance at living than the way of death.'

His face suddenly breaks out into a grin and he takes you hand. Smiling, he tells you his name. 'Rekeesh.' He says. Together you turn to go out of the chamber, feeling the friendship and the companionship of two people destined to destroy the evil creature The Ghoulag. That is, right up until the moment your back is turned. Rekeesh draws his sword and before you can turn he has stabbed you in the Back! 'TAKE THAT YOU FILTHY DRAKKAR!' He shouts. You curse yourself for an idiot. What sort of Drakkar ever trusts some goon from Vassagonia under the sway of the enemy? You take a massive 10 points of damage, which you must deduct from you ENDURANCE. If you have survived this grievous wounding you must do battle.

Turn to 29.
