7Upon seeing their leader's death, a great cry comes up from the enemy. They seem to lose all nerve, and within minutes, you have led your forces to breaking the enemy. The allied forces at the breached wall turn tail and run, turning into a full rout as they try to escape the deadly blades that follow them. Many race headlong into the Lake of Blood rather than face you and your entourage of warriors. Reinforcements arrive, Nadziranim spouting great flames of spurting fire to enhance your already great victory, scouring out the remaining enemy forces and destroying the last of the resistance in this portion of the battle field. In an hour the entire area is secured. The Nadziranim proceed to construct a magical barrier in place of where the wall was, and to your intense interest, you notice these are not sorcerers from the Nadziranim Council. Instead, they are the Nadziranim from Gnaag's Tower, a mystery that you find puzzling. In your confusion, you consult with the Xagash general that is stationed here, a Xagash by the name of Kagaag. Confusion fills his own face as he hears your questions. 'Of course these Nadziranim have never been under the Nadziranim Council, ever since the conflicts 800 years ago they have directly served the Xagash. Lakaast would know this. Why he would not tell you so is beyond my reasoning. He is the greatest of us, and the current Arch-Lord we serve; it would seem in his best interest to enable you to arrive at the tower as quickly as possible. However, since he does not seem to be with you, I will supply you with the means to enter the tower with no opposition, for the Nadziranim there guard secrets that are closed to all except the most respected leaders of Helgedad.' He gives you a Badge of Rank, a Special Item. You need not discard another item if you do not have space for it. 'Go now, for your place is in the tower, it is where you could serve us best, and beware, for this silence on the part of Lakaast stinks of treachery, I think. If not he, perhaps someone close to him. Whomever it is, be on your guard, for the forces of Lakaast are the strongest in the city.' With that Kagaag bids you farewell. |
