You do not slay Rune Fire, but as you battle, you detect a falter in his step, and taking full advantage of this, deliver a powerful backhand to his chin, one that sends him flying across the room to smash against one of the walls. Collapsing to the floor, he drops his weapon and falls into the oblivion of unconsciousness. You have no desire to slay him, but instead plan a much harsher fate, one in which he will endure endless torture at your hands. Each day as he wakes, you will be there, to deal with him and send his soul reeling in regret that he ever even thought to conspire for your death.

Other matters, pressing matters weigh on your mind at the moment however, for your city, your armies, have an enemy that must be vanquished. As night comes rushing in, and covers the enemy encampment, you raise your great weapon, the Naar-enchanted Helshezag, and bring it high over your head. With a surge of mental concentration you send a wave of darkness spiraling toward the edges of the city wall, engulfing the entirety of the enemy forces in a sea of black fire. The magics of the Plane of Darkness surrounds them, bringing despair, loathing, and finally death, upon them. It rains the dark hail as if a storm of immeasurable blackness filled the world, and then, in a moment, it is over.

The enemy is vanquished, leaving only a few scattered survivors here and there to scamper away in panic. The enemy armies are destroyed with almost nothing left to return to their home countries. With such devastation, the enemy's and their countries will now provide no problem for you to march in and take over. Their deaths will pave the way for a new, darker Magnamund.

Yet, to your unknowing actions, you have started the fulfillment of the prophecies, two opposing visions that now rush headlong toward each other onto a conflict that can only result in a conflagration of destruction. One of Darkness, one of Light, the prophecies begin to show their colors, with only one that will hold true in the end. To find out more about these prophecies and begin the final adventure of the Dark One series be sure to read the last installment of this epic campaign:
