50The Kai Grandmaster falls at your feet, the water rapidly draining from the room, his sword losing its glow. Reaching down you grab his sword, a Special Item that you cannot use in conjunction with Helshezag. It is called Ulnarius, a powerful magic weapon created by Lone Wolf for use by the Grandmasters of the Kai. When used in combat it will add +5 to your Combat Skill, but you must lose 2 Endurance Points every round you use it due to the extreme goodness of the sword. If used underwater it will add +8 to your Combat Skill (though it will add +9 to a Kai, the extreme evil of your soul decreases the value of the weapon). Searching around, you hear a banging from one of the walls. Moving swiftly to it you tap back, revealing the secret door by which you entered this chamber by, and an upset Lakaast at having so suddenly been closed out. With a smile, you reassure him that soon you both will be home in Helgedad. Closing your eyes you envision the location you wish to arrive at, and in a flash of darkness the room around you disappears, and the city of Darkness comes into view. 'Such power,' Lakaast says in awe. 'You've seen nothing yet,' you quip, but your senses alert you almost instantaneously of another's presence. It seems that the sword Helshezag has sharpened your senses, made them more attuned to the world about you, and is rapidly changing you in other ways that you can only feel, but not see. It is as if it is heightening the rate in which you change, transforming you ever quicker to the Darklordship you aspire too. Perhaps this is another one of the mysterious powers Naar has installed in this mysterious weapon. 'I knew you would come, for Naar manifested it to me but a night ago, that you would succeed and in a day's time, would come here,' Goragik, the Nadziranim appears in her true form, a wispy shade of power. In a second she changes from this form into a much more familiar shape, one in which her long claws and thin figure stand before you. 'Much has happened since you left, and much has to be done, and soon, for even now the city is about to fall, and all that stands between it and its enemies is the power you bear.' To face the danger the city stands against be sure to read the next adventure in the Dark One's series: The Dark Lords Return |
