44You hesitantly enter this corridor, its length slowly going upwards. Almost instantly you regret your decision, for up ahead, a couple dozen Kai jump out of the shadows. 'We've been expecting you,' one of the taller ones announces, as he pulls on a cord near his shoulder. Somewhere above you, a bell rings out its deep tones loudly. Before you can reach this small regiment of warriors, others enter the building behind you, cutting off your escape. They are led by a noble looking Grandmaster bearing a glowing blade, a blade that--as you are overwhelmed by the massive numbers of Kai--takes your life. Your mission and quest come to a final end here. |
