In the future, this space will be used to publish letters sent to the editors and contributors of Rising Sun. Don't hesitate to let your voice be heard. Send your email to TheRisingSun@bigfoot.com or to the particular person who you wish to reach. If your letter is chosen to appear here, you will be notified and given a chance to decline the opportunity.

Help Wanted

Since this is the first issue of the Rising Sun and there are no letters to answer as of yet, I thought that I might take this chance to explain the purpose of the Rising Sun. The purpose is to provide the online community of Lone Wolf fans with a forum to share ideas, fiction, art work, and other information not suited to sharing via the Kaiwisdom mailing list. To this end, everyone is invited to contribute to the e-Zine. Bring whatever you have to the table. Here are some of the things that we didn't manage to get into this first issue:

• Art work from contributors
• Advertisements for Lone Wolf websites
• Reader polls
• Classifieds
• Fake news stories from Magnamund

That's just a short list of some of the ideas we knocked around but didn't have time to get to. If you'd like to see something in the Rising Sun that we haven't done, take the initiative and do it. If you'd like to contribute to the next issue, please send your material by the 15th of July; the next issue will be out by the end of July.

You might have asked yourself "Why the name Rising Sun?" Right now, the world of Magnamund is in what will probably be seen in the future as its darkest hour. The future publication of any Lone Wolf gamebooks is in serious doubt. A series of books that we have all enjoyed for as much as fifteen years--happy anniversary Lone Wolf!--is in danger of whimpering out of existence. We are in a situation similar to when the Darklords were poised to conquer Magnamund at the end of the Magnakai series. Perhaps this is a little melodramatic but we have it in our power to ensure that Magnamund continues to be a lively, exciting place. Why should our enjoyment end just because of a cold marketing decision made by the publishers? The name Rising Sun expresses the hope of a bright future for the world of Lone Wolf. Just like when the free peoples of Magnamund conquered the forces of Naar, we can clear the way for a new era of Magnamund.
